Putting it all under the same umbrella
I've rebranded this newsletter and my socials to "Creative Wellbeing"
I started this newsletter almost exactly three years ago as part of a Substack Go cohort that included the visionaries behind publications such as Odyssey of the Body, Shrink Rap, The Healthier Hustle, and The Kernel. I’d been hearing about Substack from other members of The London Writers Salon as a social media for writers. It’s a newsletter platform, social feed, podcasting platform, and makes it easy for creators to be paid for their work.
I (like many of you) have a love-hate relationship with social media platforms and while I am on Instagram and Facebook, am something of a Luddite when it comes to adopting new platforms. I started this Newsletter as Nourish with three things: a mindful movement practice, a artwork or visual arts practice, and a plant-based recipe. I thought having a formula would make it “easy” but “easy” doesn’t always translate into “top of the to-do list.” And so I’ve gone into feast and famine, posting and then feeling guilty for not posting and figuring out how to stay “on brand” while diversifying my freelance life and trying to sort out my health.
Welcome to Creative Wellbeing
I’ve decided to bring everything I do (journalism, poetry, yoga and mindfulness, art and creativity workshops, and anything else that comes up) into one “brand,” a term I use reluctantly as I’m not sure the three dimensionality of a human can or should be pigeonholed. I’m giving myself a bit of leeway and room to play with this newsletter.
I’ve put everything I do (including the whole-food plant-based Instagram posts promoting my forever-forthcoming cookbook, and my yoga Facebook) into a big pile, stirred it up and came up with Regina Beach Creative Wellbeing, which more or less fits both my professional work and my personal health and wellness journey. I’m hoping it means I’m less intimidated by the “formula” of these posts and can be a little looser (and a little more regular) in updating you about what I’m up to and how you can get involved if you like.
I have a yoga section of this newsletter that you can opt in or out of with links to join seated breathwork and meditation classes for people with long term health conditions and a calendar of upcoming sessions.
I’d love to hear what you think about the “rebrand” and what type of content (another word I don’t love but can’t seem to get away from) you’d enjoy reading/listening to/watching. If you know someone who might benefit from knowing me, feel free to share this post. This newsletter is free and many of my offerings are virtual and can be joined from anywhere.

I think this is a beautiful umbrella and fits your multi-faceted work so well. I'm excited to see what happens with this "bit of leeway and room" to play with the newsletter. As for what content I like, I am curious about life in Wales and would love to read more about that through your eyes – creative, inclusive, art- and health-focused. That would be something I couldn't read anywhere else. I also imagine you have so many insights about how gentle yoga is different than other yoga and who it benefits, or why cooking without oil helps some bodies and the tricks you've learned. Things that are common now to you but would be fascinating to others. It's fun to be in the weeds sometimes. Looking forward to reading more of your writing!
Love the rebrand! And appreciate your honesty and vulnerability sharing the process!
