Pub Quiz
There’s a quiz on Monday nights at the pub across the road. My partner and I went this week for the first time in a long time. We named ourselves “Second to last” and indeed came in 5th out of 6 teams, so next time we’ll call ourselves something aspirational!
I’ve been studying for the Life in the UK citizenship test so I was hoping for some British history questions. Alas, the only one was about the prime minister that Earl Grey tea was named after. We did well on the animal round. Did you know an elephant’s molar can weigh up to 5 kilos? But we struggled with the stage names (I did know Bob Dylan and Miley Cyrus). The picture round was Looney Tunes, can you name all of these characters?

It’s estimated that half of women will experience urgency or incontinence over the course of their lives. The National MS Society estimates that 80% of people with multiple sclerosis experience bladder symptoms at some point, and unfortunately I’m one of them. I’ve tried bladder retraining, botox and several medications, but it wasn’t until I dove into pelvic floor health and really learned how to do a kegel that I truly found relief. Instagram started advertising Kim Vopni’s Buff Muff app to me and I bit the bullet. The program is full of informative talks with experts and daily exercises to strengthen weak pelvic floor muscles and relax tight ones. I’ve been doing these exercises for six weeks and I see a huge difference in my ability to hold it. It feels miraculous, like the best kept secret around.

Oil-Free Plant-Based Cooking
I’m delighted to announce that my first book Nurture: Oil-free, plant-based cooking for health is launching in November this year! This book has been a labor of love over the past three years. From deciding to overhaul my diet to developing the recipes and then turning them into a book it’s been a huge learning curve.
